(Weiquan Electronics, TWSE: 2436), the global leader of integrated circuits for USB PD controllers with adapters, today announced the launch of two new system level packaged GaN devices (SiP), which together with Weiquan Electronics' flagship GaN SiP launched last year, formed the first one based on Transform SuperGaN? The system level packaging of gallium nitride product series for the platform.

The two newly launched SiP device models are WT7162RHUG24B and WT7162RHUG24C, which integrate Weiquan Electronics' high-frequency multi-mode (quasi resonant/valley switch) flyback PWM controller and Transformer's 150 milliohm and 480 milliohm SuperGaN FET. Similar to the previous 240 milliohm device (WT7162RHUG24A), the two new devices can be paired with a USB PD or programmable power adapter controller to provide an overall adapter solution. It is worth noting that they can also provide more innovative features, including UHV valley tracking charging mode, adaptive OCP compensation, and adaptive green mode control, allowing customers to use fewer devices, streamline design solutions, and design high-quality products faster

Terminal product manufacturers are finding ways to develop new adapters with lower material cost (BOM), but also with flexibility, fast charging, and higher power output.
