Shanghai, China, December 24, 2025- Toshiba Corporation ("Toshiba") announced today the launch of a dual channel comparator (CMOS) - "TC75W71FU". This product has the characteristics of high-speed response and full range I/O (rail to rail), suitable for overcurrent detection in industrial equipment [1]. The new product will start shipping from today.

Industrial equipment typically uses high currents in motor drives and power circuits, and the risk of sudden overcurrent can lead to equipment damage, production line shutdowns, and even safety hazards; Therefore, rapid detection and protection are crucial. At the same time, in the continuous pursuit of higher efficiency and product miniaturization, the range of current and voltage that the circuit can support becomes narrower, and even slight overcurrent can impose a heavy burden on the circuit. This further drives the demand for faster and more accurate overcurrent detection technology.
The transmission delay of the new product is smaller than that of the existing TC75W56FU, with a maximum of 45ns for low-level to high-level conversion and 30ns for high-level to low-level conversion. This enables the device to immediately shut down in case of overcurrent, thereby improving operational safety.

The I/O voltage of TC75W71FU supports a full range of input and output voltages from minimum (GND) to maximum (VCC), simplifying the design. Its minimum operating power supply voltage is 1.8V, supporting low voltage operation. The new comparator also has push-pull output [3], with short signal rise and fall times, no need for external pull-up resistors, and can maintain stable voltage levels.
In addition to TC75W71FU, TC75W72FU with added hysteresis to enhance noise resistance, as well as TC75W73FU with hysteresis and open drain output [5] (capable of sending signals to different voltage domains from the comparator power supply), will also be launched this time, and mass production is planned to begin in February 2026.
In the future, Toshiba will continue to develop comparators that help improve the safety and reliability of industrial equipment, and expand its product lineup to meet a wide range of customer needs.
Application:
-Industrial equipment (industrial robots, UPS, photovoltaic generators, power supplies, etc.)
-Consumer devices (household appliances, power supplies, etc.)
characteristic:
-I/O full range
-Low voltage drive: 1.8V
-High speed response: tPLH 45ns (maximum), tPHL 30ns (maximum) (VDD=3.3V)
