Teradyne launches industry-leading UltraPHY solution, providing comprehensive performance testing for current and next-generation high-speed interfaces

Post on Jan 01,1970

On October 13, 2025, Beijing, China - Teradyne (NASDAQ: TER), a leading global supplier of automated testing solutions and advanced robotics, announced today the launch of a groundbreaking high-speed PHY performance testing board based on the UltraFLEXplus platform - UltraPHY 224G. This solution forms a more complete product portfolio with the UltraPHY 112G board that has been mass-produced and adopted by multiple customers. Both solutions are designed for UltraFLEXplus and utilize Terada's advanced IG-XL software to facilitate quick user acquisition.

The UltraPHY 224G was developed by Teradyne using the Multilane module, providing laboratory level signal generation and measurement capabilities for mass production testing. This product is built according to strict software and hardware standards, setting a new benchmark for testing density and signal fidelity to meet the high-speed interface requirements of the next generation of chips.

Roy Chorev, Vice President and General Manager of the Computing Testing Division at Teradyne, stated, "With the launch of Teradyne UltraPHY 224G, we are further expanding our product portfolio to meet the more stringent testing requirements of the next generation PHY. Customers can rest assured that Teradyne's investment in UltraPHY can support current chip architectures, advanced packaging, and KGD workflows, as well as meet future technological needs. ”

The UltraPHY 112G is optimized for current high-speed standards, while the UltraPHY 224G extends performance boundaries to meet emerging data rate requirements in data centers and the silicon photonics (SiPh) market. Two boards can be used simultaneously on the same UltraFLEXplus platform, providing customers with great flexibility to easily meet current and future high-speed interface testing needs.

Each UltraPHY 224G card provides 8 full duplex differential channels and 8 pure receive differential channels, adopts DSO+BERT architecture, and supports data rates up to 112 Gb/s NRZ and 224 Gb/s (112 Gbaud PAM4). Like Teradyne's UltraPHY 112G, the UltraPHY 224G has extremely high scalability, with each UltraFLEXplus platform supporting multiple boards and flexible support for emerging advanced modulation formats as the industry develops.

The main advantages include:

A single testing platform meets all PHY testing requirements - both UltraPHY 224G and UltraPHY 112G are designed based on Teradyne UltraFLEXplus.

Platform Coexistence - The same UltraFLEXplus can be equipped with both UltraPHY 224G and UltraPHY 112G, achieving full data rate coverage for PHY testing.

Relying on the widely used IG-XL software from Terada, the development and debugging of testing programs are greatly simplified.

Based on advanced laboratory technology, UltraPHY provides a fully integrated mass production testing solution, which is uniformly serviced and supported by Teradyne.

Integrating DSO, AWG, and BERT functions enables comprehensive PHY production testing and feature analysis.

The signal transmission bandwidth exceeds 50GHz, and its reliability has been verified in production environments.

The architecture has scalability and can support current and future electrical interface standards applicable to SiPh and non SiPh chips.
