With the large-scale deployment of 5G networks, the surge in data center traffic, and the explosive growth of IoT terminals, the global communication infrastructure continues to upgrade and expand. In order to meet the stringent requirements for power performance of communication equipment in high-speed data transmission, massive data processing, and large-scale terminal connection scenarios, Da Da Da You Shang has launched a synchronous buck converter solution based on the MPS MPQ8633A chip, aiming to help customers cope with complex power supply challenges and significantly improve system energy efficiency and reliability.

MPQ8633A is a fully integrated high-frequency synchronous buck converter. It provides a very compact solution that can achieve up to 12A output current over a wide input power supply range, and has excellent load and line regulation performance, enabling efficient operation over a wide output current load range. Meanwhile, MPQ8633A adopts an internally compensated constant on-time (COT) control mode, which can provide fast transient response and simplify loop stability. This device can be set to a constant switching frequency (fSW) of 600kHz, 800kHz, or 1000kHz through MODE, unaffected by input and output voltages.
Moreover, MPQ8633A controls the startup ramp of the output voltage (VOUT) through an internal 1ms timer. The value of this timer can be increased by adding a capacitor to TRK/REF. And MPQ8633A provides a normal signal for the open drain power supply to indicate whether the output is within its nominal voltage range. In terms of security, the product integrates multiple protection functions, including overcurrent protection (OCP), overvoltage protection (OVP), undervoltage protection (UVP), and over temperature protection (OTP). In addition, to further save circuit board area, MPQ8633A minimizes the need for external components and offers two packaging options, QFN-20 (3mm × 4mm) and QFN-21 (3mm × 4mm), making it convenient for users to choose.
