On August 29, 2025, Belgium's Taisen Delo Hamm - Melexis, a global microelectronics engineering company, announced the official release of the latest upgraded magnetic collector model of the MLX92211 series of three wire Hall effect latches designed specifically for horizontal magnetic position detection, with excellent electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection capabilities and high output current limiting characteristics. With the advantages of high integration and cost-effectiveness, this product helps promote the development of motor miniaturization, especially suitable for application scenarios of compact motors in automobiles such as seat adjustment motors, sunroof drive systems, and electronic expansion valves.


The current automotive industry has an increasing demand for smaller and thinner motor modules, while maintaining robustness and diagnostic capabilities. This requirement is particularly evident in seat adjusters - multiple motors need to be integrated into a compact component, ensuring that the seat is adjustable, comfortable to ride, and meets strict safety standards. Automakers have always faced multiple pressures: to maximize cabin space, reduce vehicle weight, continuously enhance interior functions, and support automated production. Similar design constraints also exist in components such as skylights and electronic expansion valves, such as reducing module height and achieving surface mount compatibility, which can lead to thinner mechanical designs and more flexible integration solutions.
The MLX92211 IMC Hall sensor chip precisely addresses the above challenges through innovative magnetic point (IMC) technology: its surface mount (SMD) TSOT-3L package supports horizontal magnetic induction, no through-hole component requirements, and is highly compatible with modern automated assembly processes. This innovation not only significantly reduces motor height and improves packaging flexibility, but also optimizes manufacturing processes, bringing multidimensional advantages to design.
The newly launched MLX92211 magnetic dot model by Mailaixin is based on the mature MLX92211 platform and provides an optimized horizontal sensing solution. Its single-chip package integrates a wide voltage regulator (working range of 2.7-24V), a Hall sensor chip with advanced offset elimination technology, and an open drain output driver chip. The magnetic core enhanced offset elimination system is not affected by temperature and stress, achieving fast, accurate, and stable signal processing. The specially configured negative temperature coefficient can better counteract the high-temperature demagnetization effect of the magnet.
The latch sensor chip supports both three wire and two wire configurations (requiring an external resistor), with a current limit of 30mA that fully meets the needs of applications such as seat motors (which typically require a continuous current of 25mA). Combined with 8kV strong electrostatic discharge protection (ESD), automatic output shutdown mechanism with self recovery function, and ASIL A functional safety level certification, the MLX92211 magnetic point model fully meets the reliability standards of modern automotive applications.
