These through-hole inductors utilize variable-line winding and iron powder alloy core technology to achieve low DC resistance (DCR), reducing power loss and improving efficiency.
MALVERN, Pennsylvania, USA and SHANGHAI, China — August 8, 2025 — Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) announced the release of two new IHDM automotive-grade through-hole flat wire inductors, the IHDM-1107BBEV-2A and IHDM-1107BBEV-3A. These devices are housed in an 1107 package and offer a soft saturation current of up to 422 A. Leveraging their iron powder alloy core technology, the IHDM-1107BBEV-2A and IHDM-1107BBEV-3A inductors offer excellent inductance and saturation current stability across the demanding operating temperature range of -40°C to +180°C, while also providing low power consumption and excellent thermal performance.
The two devices released today feature flat-wire windings with a low DC resistance (DCR) of 0.22 mW, minimizing losses and improving rated current performance for increased efficiency. Compared to competing ferrite-based solutions, the IHDM-1107BBEV-2A and IHDM-1107BBEV-3A offer 30% higher rated current and 30% higher saturation current at temperatures above +125°C. The inductors feature soft saturation characteristics, resulting in a gradual decrease in inductance with increasing current and independent of temperature.

These AEC-Q200 qualified devices, with a withstand voltage up to 350 V, are suitable for DC/DC converters, inverters, on-board chargers (OBCs), domain control units (DCUs) in high-current, high-temperature power applications, as well as filters for motor and switching noise suppression in internal combustion engine (ICE), hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), and all-electric vehicle (EV). These inductors are available with two core materials to optimize performance for the application.
The IHDM-1107BBEV-2A and IHDM-1107BBEV-3A have stripped leads and tin-plated for through-hole mounting. Vishay can customize inductance values, DC resistance (DCR), current ratings, and voltage ratings based on customer requirements. Mounting options are also available, including bare copper leads, surface mount, and fisheye terminations. To reduce the risk of tin whisker growth, the inductors are hot-dip tin-plated. These devices are RoHS-compliant, Vishay Green, and halogen-free.
