Morse Microelectronics partners with Airfide to launch Wi Fi HaLow occupancy sensor at COMNEXT exhibition in Japan
Combining edge AI with long-range connectivity technology to establish a new benchmark for private and scalable IoT building sensing
Beijing, China - August 1, 2025- Morse Microelectronics, a leading global supplier of Wi Fi HaLow chips, announced today that the next-generation micro mobile occupancy sensor AFN6843, launched in collaboration with Airfide Networks, has been fully launched and will enhance Wi Fi HaLow connectivity. This release was held during the Japan Next Generation Communication Technology Expo (COMNEXT), after successfully passing three months of on-site testing, marking a crucial step in the field of scalable, privacy first intelligent building technology.
This new sensor is based on Airfide's mature millimeter wave (mmWave) and edge AI sensing architecture, integrating Morse Microelectronics' MM6108 Wi Fi HaLow SoC. The transmission distance is 10 times longer than Wi Fi 4/5/6/7, while maintaining ultra-low power consumption and high reliability, making it suitable for commercial and industrial IoT deployments.
Venkat Kalkunte, CEO of Airfide, stated, "This sensor equipped with Wi Fi HaLow unleashes the potential for truly wireless, long-range, and privacy preserving occupancy monitoring. From elderly care and smart offices to public transportation hubs and warehouses, this device has changed the way space monitoring is conducted - without the need for cameras and wearable devices, simply sensing is enough to gain insight into the required information. ”
Main features:
Long distance wireless connection: using sub GHz Wi Fi HaLow technology to achieve full building coverage
Edge AI: Advanced edge AI technology that can accurately monitor personnel occupancy, presence, movement, and fall incidents
Non invasive perception: using millimeter wave radar sensors for non-invasive perception, obtaining crowd statistics and angle information
Real time monitoring and insight analysis: Provide real-time monitoring functions through cloud platforms to generate actionable insight analysis
Convenient application support: Supports applications for Android and Apple iOS systems, enabling real-time monitoring and deployment
Application scenarios:
Intelligent buildings and offices: achieve HVAC and lighting automation, optimize desk usage efficiency, and monitor occupancy density
Healthcare and elderly care: Provide fall prevention monitoring, inactivity alerts, and personnel appearance monitoring without infringing on privacy
Retail and public spaces: provide crowd counting, stay time analysis, queue monitoring, and heat maps
Industrial and logistics: worker tracking, object detection, and regional safety compliance alerts in hazardous areas
Michael De Nil, co-founder and CEO of Morse Microelectronics, said, "This collaboration is driving us towards scalable, secure, and standard compliant wireless sensing technology, paving the way for the next generation of IoT 2.0. The use of MM6108 by Airfide in practical applications is another excellent example of the potential of Wi Fi HaLow. ”
The Wi Fi HaLow occupancy sensor from Airfide Networks will be exhibited at the Japan Next Generation Communication Technology Expo (COMNEXT). Welcome to booth C12-6 (private 5G) to learn about demonstrations or media inquiries.
