WPG Group launches industrial PLC solution based on ST products

On July 21, 2025, WPG Holdings, a leading international semiconductor component distributor dedicated to the Asia-Pacific market, announced that its subsidiary Youshang has launched an industrial PLC solution based on STMicroelectronics (ST) STM32MP257FAK3 MPU.

Under the wave of Industry 4.0, China's programmable logic controller (PLC) market has ushered in unprecedented development opportunities. As the core of industrial automation control, PLC can not only realize complex functions such as logical operations, sequential control, timing and counting, but also greatly improve the automation level and efficiency of the production process through digital or analog input/output connections with various mechanical equipment. In order to promote the development of PLC, WPG Youshang launched an industrial PLC solution based on ST STM32MP257FAK3 MPU. STM32MP257FAK3 is a high-performance microprocessor unit (MPU) under ST. It integrates dual-core Arm Cortex-A35 (up to 1.5GHz) and Arm Cortex -M33 (400MHz) processors, which not only provides powerful computing power, but also supports real-time processing tasks to ensure efficient operation of the system. In addition, STM32MP257FAK3 is also equipped with multiple Ethernet interfaces, which greatly enriches its application scenarios and scalability. In terms of security, the chip integrates security functions such as Secure Boot, TrustZone peripherals, active tampering detection, environmental monitoring, as well as hardware accelerators and a complete resource isolation framework to provide reliable security protection for industrial automation systems.

In addition, the solution also carries ST STPMIC25APQR power management IC, TOSHIBA TLP2160 optical isolator, Nanya NT5AD512M16C4-JRI storage chip, Microchip KSZ8081MNX Ethernet transceiver, Winbond Electronics W25Q32JVSS flash memory, Samsung KLM8G1GETF-B041 storage chip and TI SN74AHC595PWR shift register and other products. The integration of these excellent components further ensures the efficient operation and data security of the PLC system in complex industrial environments, providing strong support for accelerating the process of industrial automation.
