On June 19, 2025, Da Da Da Lian Holdings, an internationally leading semiconductor component distributor dedicated to the Asia Pacific market, announced that its subsidiary Youshang has launched a 100W PD3.0 adapter solution based on Leadtrend's LD7798, LD8526, and LD6612 chips.
Currently, the demand for high-power power supply has become an inevitable trend in the development of digital devices. Taking laptops as an example, in order to achieve high-intensity tasks such as multitasking and parallel processing, the device requires continuous and stable power support. Therefore, power supplies with 100W or even higher power have gradually become standard. In this context, the USB PD power protocol has emerged, which aims to standardize and unify power supply for various devices through the USB Type-C interface. In an ideal state, as long as the device supports PD protocol, whether it is a laptop, tablet, smartphone, smart wearable device or small household appliance application, it can be charged/powered through a USB Type-C data cable and PD charger, and the device can fully utilize fast charging technology to significantly shorten charging time. In response to this trend, Da Da Da Da You Shang has launched a 100W PD3.0 adapter solution based on Leadtrend LD7798, LD8526, and LD6612 chips.
LD7798 is a PFC+PWM controller IC that integrates quasi resonant flyback (QR Flyback) and continuous conduction mode (CCM) control functions, effectively improving power conversion efficiency and optimizing system performance. In the quasi resonant flyback section, LD7798 adopts Valley Switching Operation to significantly reduce the switching loss of MOSFET, thereby improving overall efficiency. In addition, the design of the chip can simplify the circuit structure, effectively save circuit space, and reduce overall material costs. Not only that, LD7798 has multiple advanced functions, including high-voltage start, sleep mode, and green mode energy-saving operation, which can flexibly adjust the working state according to the load situation, further reducing power loss. Meanwhile, its internally integrated slope compensation and soft start functions also help optimize system performance and ensure stable operation.
LD8526 is a secondary side synchronous rectification (SR) driver IC suitable for multiple operating modes, and can be widely used in flyback circuit architectures in CCM, DCM, and QR modes. Under light load conditions, LD8526 can enter energy-saving mode by stopping the SR MOSFET drive function to reduce operating current and improve system efficiency. This chip has self powering capability and can maintain operation by generating source voltage through low output voltage in rectification applications at the negative or positive output positions, without the need for additional power supply or dependence on auxiliary windings. In addition, LD8526 supports applications with peak load function, with a maximum operating frequency of up to 130kHz.
LD6612 is a secondary side controller designed for USB PD Type-C applications, specifically for efficient and slim offline AC-DC. This product is equipped with an 8-bit MCU for processing PD protocols, policy engines, and device policy managers. Additionally, it has a built-in dual phase mark coding (BMC) that supports USB PD communication or other proprietary protocols such as QC2.0/QC3.0. In addition, LD6612 also integrates a shunt regulator, voltage and current monitoring and control circuits, as well as blocking N-MOSFET to reduce the number of external components and overall costs.
