Toshiba launches dual channel automotive standard digital isolator compliant with AEC-Q100 standard

- Utilizing high common mode transient suppression and high-speed data communication to achieve stable operation -

Shanghai, China, June 19, 2025- Toshiba Electronic Components and Storage Devices Co., Ltd. ("Toshiba") announced today the latest launch of a series of dual channel high-speed standard digital isolators for automotive applications - the "DCM32xx00 series". This series has four devices that can achieve stable operation through high common mode transient suppression (CMTI) of 100kV/μ s (typical value) [1] and high-speed data transmission rate of 50Mbps (maximum value) [2]. All devices comply with the AEC-Q100 automotive electronic device safety and reliability standards and have begun to support bulk shipments.

In order to ensure the safety and reliability of the on-board charger (OBC) and battery management system (BMS) in hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) and pure electric vehicles (EV), the required components not only need to ensure isolation, but also need to have the function of preventing noise propagation. Toshiba's latest in car standard digital isolators provide excellent solutions for multi-channel high-speed communication and high CMTI required for these isolation devices.

The latest standard digital isolator adopts Toshiba's proprietary magnetic coupling isolation transmission method to achieve high CMTI of 100kV/μ s (typical value). This can achieve high-level resistance to electrical noise between input and output in isolated signal transmission, thereby achieving stable control signal transmission and contributing to the stable operation of the equipment. In addition, they can achieve a low pulse width distortion of 0.8ns (typical value) [2] and a data transmission rate of 50Mbps (maximum value). These new products are suitable for dual channel high-speed communication applications such as I/O interfaces that support CAN [3] communication.

Toshiba's four channel on-board standard digital isolator has been mass-produced, and its product line has been expanded to include dual channel small SOIC8-N packages. In the future, Toshiba will further expand its channel and packaging range for automotive and industrial equipment, and will continue to provide high-quality isolation devices and optocouplers to meet the reliability and real-time data transmission needs of automotive equipment.
